Professional Organization of Air Traffic Controller Collegiate Training.

Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of professional organization of the Air Traffic Controller's collegiate training in the educational aviation system of the USA. In the article the author describes outstanding role of Aviation Accreditation Board International, Council for Higher Education Accreditation, University Aviation Association and Federal Aviation Administration in the aviation collegiate training. It was also underlined the importance of the Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative as a basic step in the aviation career as an Air Traffic Controller. The article covers the information of the National Centre for Educational Statistics which includes such educational programs as ''Engineering'' and ''Transport and material moving''. Educational program ''Engineering'' covers such specializations as 14.02 ''Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering'' and 14.0201 ''Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical / Space Engineering''. Moreover, educational program ''Transport and material moving'' includes such specialization as 49.01 ''Air Transportation'', 49.0101 ''Aeronautics / Aviation / Aerospace Science and Technology, General'', 49.0102 ''Airline / Commercial / Professional Pilot and Flight Crew'', 49.0104 ''Aviation / Airway Management and Operation'', 49.0105 ''Air Traffic Controller'', 49.0106 ''Airline Flight Attendant'', 49.0108''Flight Instructor'', 49.0199 ''Other Air Transport''. Paper acknowledges the wide range of the Approved Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative schools, which opens wide opportunities after the Air Traffic candidates. There was also underlined main contest of FAA Order 3120.4 ''Air Traffic Technical Training'' which is the source of legislative power for all Air Traffic Control personnel.
