Progress in research on phoma stem canker (Leptosphaeria spp.)

Journal Title: Rośliny Oleiste - Oilseed Crops - Year 2009, Vol 30, Issue 2

Abstract

Leptosphaeria maculans (Desm.) Ces. et de Not. and Leptosphaeria biglobosa belong to the group of the most dangerous fungal pathogens causing the decrease of rapeseed yield (Shoemaker and Brun 2001). Research on these pathogens are needed to reduce a risk of large loses of yield. This paper presents recent (2007–2009) advancements in the research on phoma stem canker and on pathogens causing this disease in relation to four research areas: epidemiology, resistance, plant protection and detection of pathogens.
