PROJECT PROCESS IN COMPANIES THAT RECEIVED GRANTS FROM REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY FINANCIAL SUPPORT PROGRAMMES: NADA CASE

Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate project process in companies that received grants from regional development agencies. With this aim, a field survey is applied to 38 companies in Erzurum sub-region which received grants from North Eastern Anatolia Development Agency financial support programs between 2013-2015. Reasons for applying to agency supports, changes in the company occurred after agency support and cooperation activities with other organizations are also examined in the study. In order to contribute to improvement of agency support processes, problems encountered by the companies are evaluated in two phases: project application and project execution. Data set is analyzed by descriptive statistics, Single Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and Spearman’s correlation coefficient. Survey results indicate that companies experienced low levels of problems in the application phase and very low levels of problems in the project execution phase. A Spearman’s correlation (rs) was run and statistically significant relations were detected between company size, company owner’s education level, employees’ education level, easiness to find qualified employees and other variables. Study results reveal that the education level of entrepreneurs and employees reduce the level of problems encountered at project process; and increase the level of positive change of grants in the company.
