Abstract
The use of alternating-current generators on diesel locomotives allows for development of alternating-current transmissions to improve the technical and economical indicators relating to the locomotives. A description of the operation principle, schematics, parameters and characteristics of the developed electric transmission, consisting of a synchronous generator, asynchronous traction slipring motors, an autonomous traction inverter of a simple construction and non-controlled rectifiers. was presented In the developed transmission, the slip energy of the traction motors is transferred to their stator windings.
