PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE INCLUSIVE APPROACH AS A BASIS FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF EDUCATION OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Journal Title: Гірська школа Українських Карпат - Year 2017, Vol 0, Issue 16

Abstract

The article analyzes the scientific definition of "inclusiveness" and reveals its content. Inclusion is a process in which anything is included or is included as a part of the whole. This term reflects new perspectives not only for education but also a place in society. That is, any child who has special needs can get an education in a regular classroom. On the basis of the conducted theoretical analysis of the work of specialists, the content of the inclusive approach to the organization of educational activities was examined. In the broadest sense, the inclusive approach involves the adoption of a general education institution for the education of all children, regardless of their physical, intellectual, social, emotional, linguistic and other characteristics. The principle of inclusive education is based on the theory of L. Vygodsky about the «zone of immediate development». This theory is based on the fact that problems need to be addressed under the guidance of adults or through collaboration with more capable peers. Consequently, regardless of the state of health, the presence of physical or intellectual disabilities, every child has the right to a full life, education, the quality of which should not differ from the quality of education of healthy children. It is this principle that is fundamental in the organization of inclusive education for children with special educational needs. Scientists are unanimous in the fact that inclusive education has significant benefits for children with special educational needs, as well as for healthy children. Inclusive educational institutions are educational institutions that are fully open to the education of children, regardless of their intellectual, physical, social or other characteristics. Methods and forms of training in such institutions are adapted to the educational needs of children with special needs. The basis of the organization of inclusive education is taking into account the individuality of each child. The main principles of inclusive education include: accessibility of all forms of education and educational services; adaptation and individualization of educational programs taking into account the needs and abilities of the child; a combination of traditional and innovative approaches to child development; creation of the most favorable conditions for socialization, self-determination and self-realization of children.
