PUBLIC RELATIONS: BASIC CONCEPTS AND STAGES OF FORMATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract
The aim of the work is to elucidate the content of the notion of «public relations» and to identify the main stages in the development of PR technologies as a socio-cultural phenomenon. Methodology. To effectively achieve the research goal, the author used the analytical method. This approach allows us to analyze the content of the concept of "public relations" and identify the main stages in the development of PR technologies in the educational sphere. The scientific novelty of the work is to expand the understanding of the use of PR technologies for the effective functioning of higher education institutions, the evolution of "public relations" in independent Ukraine, and the advisability of using them in the field of socio-cultural activities. Conclusions. Without active use of PR technologies by universities, their work can be problematic and inefficient. Referring to the stages of the formation of PR technologies, it can be concluded that in our time they are actively developing and it is impossible to achieve success without them. That is why today it is important that the heads of universities understand the importance of the functioning of public relations services.
