QUASIPARADIGMATIC RELATIONSHIPS AS A RESULT OF MODERN MASS-MEDIA PRACTICES

Abstract
Within the article quasiantonymic semantic relations, which are the result of modern discursive practices, are considered. The discourse of a particular type, creates the conditions for many of the linguistic transformations. A mass media discourse has this property too. It has not only the ability to influence, but also the ability to manipulate. The most remarkable are the lexical and semantic changes, which reflect not only the real processes taking place at a certain linguistic level, but also the phenomena that characterize certain stages of the development of society. The author analyzes the mass media Ukrainian space presented by print and Internet publications which were published during 2015-2016. The mass media discourse of modern Ukraine demonstrates the facts of the emergence of quasiparadigmatic semantic opposition. The functioning of the pair of lexemes "зрада" (betrayal) and "перемога" (victory) in the mass media discourse of Ukraine demonstrates the emergence of oppositional relations between lexemes. Each of the words has lexicographically fixed antonym. The active functioning of the Ukrainian tokens, " betrayal " and " victory" in the media discourse, influenced the emergence of unusual antonymic relations between these tokens. Antonymic attitudes in this pair were the result of the mass media practice of the studied period. First of all they explode the pragmatic intentions of the sender of communication and are means of manipulative influence on the linguistic consciousness of the recipient. The author interprets the examples of such word consumption as a result of violation of logical-semantic paradigmatic relations in the vocabulary that arise within a certain discourse and explains pragmatic intentions of the sender. In addition, the lexeme "victory" in the mass media discourse of this period loses its positive connotation, which is actualized in the antonymic pair "victory – defeat". The author observes the same process with the lexeme "betrayal", under the use of which the unambiguous negative assessment was erased. The modality of doubt "is this a betrayal or not?" undermines the established ideas about these concepts. The neutralization of positive / negative connotation is the result of a certain type of word-use practice that implements specific pragmatic goals. The author considers the destruction of traditional paradigmatic connections between lexemes as one of the means of manipulating the linguistic consciousness of a person. The author of the article defines such opposed pairs as pragmatic-discursive antonyms.
