QUESTIONNAIRE OF ADOLESCENTS’ CAREER INTERESTS (MŁOKOZZ)
Journal Title: Educational Psychology - Year 2013, Vol 45, Issue 3
Abstract
Abstract: The presented series of studies aimed at designing a new Questionnaire of Adolescents’ Career Interests to measure adolescents’ career interests understood as a six-dimensional construct composed of subject interests, innovative interests, artistic interests, social interests, managerial interests and methodological interests. The article reviews theoretical assumptions about interests, which are a starting point for the discussion of the research findings, and presents a psychometric description of the tool. Data from 1.800 students in three age groups (12, 15 and 18 years of age) and 1.800 adults – representing 60 professions and trades qualified as representative of the individual types of interests – was analyzed. The findings give grounds for stating that the scale accurately conveys the construct described by Holland (1997), and confirm its stable and adequate internal structure.
