CAROL DWECK’S “THEORIES” OF INTELLIGENCE AND THEIR EDUCATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
Journal Title: Educational Psychology - Year 2012, Vol 44, Issue 1
Abstract
Summary: The article presents two different subjective “theories” of intelligence understood by Dweck as a superior assumption for an individual to form a specific concept of self-perception and the perception of the social world (mindset). The paper shows the deep, lifelong sense of promoting a growth mindset in the educational context, and the way of such promotion suggested by Dweck. It also analyzes Polish education in terms of the relationships between its system assumptions and Dweck's educational recommendations.
