Reconfiguration of photovoltaic arrays based on genetic algorithm
Journal Title: Revista Facultad de Ingeniería-Universidad de Antioquia - Year 2015, Vol 1, Issue 75
Abstract
This paper describes a Genetic Algorithm (GA) implementation devoted to the calculation of reconfiguration patterns for Photovoltaic Arrays (PVs). The proposed solution is compared with the classical Brute Force (BF) approach, which use is very restrictive due to its long processing times. The GA tuning up process is described, and several cases of study, including partial shading profiles for the PV array, are presented. Results show a very superior performance of the GA, when compared to the BF approach. Improvements in output power, as a result of the calculated reconfiguration, are also shown.

Parameter estimation method for induction machines using instantaneous voltage and current measurements
This paper proposes an off-line method to determine the electrical parameters of an induction machine based on two instantaneous indicators (impedance and power). The method uses the induction machine start-up voltage an...

A new algorithm for near–singular integration of 3D Boundary Element Integrals for thin–walled elements
The accuracy of the Boundary Element Method (BEM) is strongly dependent on an accurate evaluation of boundary integrals. For thin-walled structures, collocation points and integration elements are often very close, makin...
