REDUCING THE NUMBER OF CRITERIA IN MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION-MAKING PROBLEMS BY PAIRWISE COMPARISON

Abstract

Existing methods for reducing the number of criteria in multicriteria decision-making tasks have been analyzed. The aim of the paper is to develop a convolution method for a set of criteria. The algorithm for reducing the number of criteria in the tasks of evalu-ating of fundamental and applied scientific and technical projects using the method of pairwise comparison and the additive-multiplicative approach was proposed in this paper. The main stages of implementation of it are presented. The approach provides the reduction of the hierarchical structure of the criteria for expert appraisal of fundamental as well as applied scientific and tech-nical projects in the examples. The algorithm was considered give the opportunity to determine the highest priority criteria for each group. The method is intended for cases where it is impossible to ignore any of the criteria.
