REFERENCES OF STUDENTS STUDYING IN DIFFERENT GRADES TO THE CONCEPTS RELATED TO VALUES

Abstract
One element of values education is the students. In this respect, the examination of students’ understanding about the values is going to provide information about both thoughts of teachers and students in education and teaching processes, and be helpful for teachers and researchers so as to form their education and teaching processes. In this context, references of the students studying in different grades to the concepts related to values, in other words the meanings of these concepts in students’ minds were intended to be revealed. For that purpose, descriptive model of quantitative research methot was utilized and 900 students who study values education in primary schools, mid-schools and secondary schools in 2016-2017 education year in the province of Konya were selected as sample. “Concept Association Form of Values” was utilized as data collection tool and “association sets” related to each value were created by using the responses given by the students.
