Abstract
The article addresses selected key issues concerning the powers of the authority for personal data protection (supervisory authority) in light of amendments introduced by way of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The analysis conducted concentrates mainly on the rules for handling complaints and administrative matters by this authority, with particular attention paid to issues connected with the imposition of fines and the conditioning of complaint consideration on the payment of stamp duty.
