Report of a dissertation for doctor’s degree: ‘Study of the scope of independence in functioning among the disabled in their life environment’

Abstract

The study covered the investigation of selected scopes of functional independence in the environment of life of the disabled. These areas of activity were: capability for performing simple and complex activities of daily life, performance of social roles in a family, occupational activity, functioning in the neighbourhood community and participation in social life. The study population were 217 disabled, treated and rehabilitated in rehabilitation wards due to the past cerebral stroke, or hip or knee prosthesis surgery.
