Research progress in traditional Chinese medicine treatment of contact dermatitis

Journal Title: TMR Integrative Medicine - Year 2020, Vol 4, Issue 5

Abstract

Contact dermatitis is one of the common diseases in dermatology in clinical practice. In recent years, the incidence of the disease has been increasing year by year. Clinically, antihistamines and hormones are often taken for symptomatic treatment. However, long-term repeated use will cause more serious symptoms, such as redness, swelling, and itching in the affected part of the patient. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treats this disease with Chinese medicine decoction, Chinese patent medicine, hydropathic compress, acupuncture, etc., which have significant curative effect, and not only can relieve the patient's symptoms, but also not easy to relapse. Now, the progress of TCM treatment of this disease is reviewed in detail from two aspects: the internal treatment of TCM and the external treatment of TCM.
