Abstract
20. yüzy?l?n önde gelen modernist kad?n tasar?mc?lar?ndan olan Eileen Gray, özgürlükçü ve yenilikçi ruhunun yan? s?ra mütevazi ki?ili?e sahip olmas?yla ya?ad??? döneme eserleriyle damgas?n? vurmu? fakat geç gelen ?öhreti onu günümüzde bilinir hale getirmi?tir. 1878 y?l?nda ?rlanda’da do?an Gray, meslek hayat?n?n zirvesini Paris’in Dolce Vita olarak tan?mlanan, tatl? ve lüks günlerinde sürdürmü? olup ünlü Jean Desert Galerisi’ni bu dönemde açm??t?r. The Price of Desire filmine konu olan, E.1027 Evi ve Tempe à Pailla Evi’nin tasar?mlar? meslek hayat?nda önemli yer tutmu?tur. Eserleri kadar hayat? da roman gibi geçen, 1976 y?l?nda hayat?n? kaybeden Gray’in, çal??ma kapsam?nda hayat?, eserlerinin analizi, tasar?m anlay???na bak???, ünlü mimar Le Corbusier ile olan diyaloglar? ele al?nacakt?r. 2013 y?l?nda Paris-Pompidou Kültür Merkezi’nde aç?lan retrospektif Eileen Gray sergisi, ünlü tasar?mc?n?n ölümünden sonra hak etti?i de?eri bulmas?, mimarl?k ve tasar?m dünyas?na yapm?? oldu?u katk?lar? anlamak için önemli bir dönüm noktas?d?r. Çal??mada serginin orijinal foto?raflar?na ve sergi düzenine yer verilmektedir. Bu serginin devam?nda kal?c? ve sürekli sergiler aç?lm??, E.1027 Evi’nin restorasyonu tamamlanm??, Gray’in hayat?n? ve eserlerini konu alan film çekilip gösterime girmi?tir. Sonuç olarak, modern mimarl?k dünyas?na olan katk?lar?, mimariden hal?ya, mekandan ayd?nlatma eleman?na kadar yapt??? her tasar?mda formun yan? s?ra i?levselli?i ön planda tutmas?, kendinden bir ruh katmas? ve ki?iye özel tasar?mlar yapmas?, döneminde ya?ayan erkek tasar?mc?lardan onu ay?ran en önemli özellikleri olmu?tur.
