RISK-TARGETED MAPS FOR SEISMIC DESIGN. A BRIEF REVIEW OF THE STATE-OF-THE-ART
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2017, Vol 62, Issue 1
Abstract
The uniform hazard approach is currently used for almost all seismic design maps enforced worldwide. That being the case, the seismic risk of buildings designed according to uniform hazard values of ground motions parameters cannot be uniform all over the territory, as the slopes of the hazard curves can differ from a site to another. The aim of this study is to present and assess different methodologies concerning risk-targeted seismic design maps and to differentiate the parameters that can influence the overall shape and site-specific values of such maps.

PERIODIC SOLUTION FOR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH SMALL PARAMETER
There is considered a class of non-linear differential equations and there is analysed the existence of the periodical solutions and the stability of this solutions for the case when the linear part is admitting periodic...
ASYMMETRICAL COLD STRIP ROLLING. A NEW ANALYTICAL APPROACH
In this paper is given a solution of asymmetrical strip rolling problem using a Bingham type constitutive equation and the perturbation method. Rolling pressure distribution, rolling force, rolling torque, front tension,...
AN ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF HOLES PATTERNS ON COUPLED INSTABILITY OF PERFORATED THIN-WALLED MEMBERS
The buckling behaviour of vertical steel pallet rack columns is greatly influenced by the distribution of perforations punched continuously along their length. To study the influence of the holes patterns on the elastic...
PROBABILISTIC SEISMIC VULNERABILITY ANALYSIS OF REINFORCED CONCRETE COLUMNS
Estimating the response of reinforced concrete columns to a transitory action, represented by a ground motion, is an uncertain task. The randomness of the seismic event and that of the response should be accounted for. T...
ADVANCED STRATEGIES FOR INVESTIGATION OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Due to several pressing matters like the drastic reduction in pollutant emissions and fuel consumption, as well as the need to increase the thermal efficiency, the research in the field of internal combustion engines run...
