ROCK MUSIC: ON THE WAY TO CONCEPTUALIZATION

Abstract
The article covers the place of conceptual albums in the history of rock music and culture of the second half of the XX - the beginning of the XXI century. Their role as works of conceptual art in a wide historical context is analyzed. The specificity of the manifestation of conceptualization in rock music is revealed. The sub-genres of rock music, in which conceptual albums appear predominantly, are defined.
