Abstract
The article presents a review of research on development of the ability to comply and the relationship between compliance and secure attachment style. Firstly, various approaches to compliance and attachment theory’s assumptions are presented. Secondly, literature on the development of the tendency to comply in the early childhood is described. Then, the research findings are presented. They suggest that children securely attached to their mother tend to cooperate with her, agree with her requests, and internalize her goals when the time comes. Finally, the author’s findings are described. They indicate, that secure bonding in adulthood is also related to compliance with coworkers’ as well as with romantic partners’ requests.<br/><br/>
