Rola Związku Nauczycielstwa Polskiego w zakresie kształtowania bezpieczeństwa pracy w bibliotece akademickiej

Abstract
The aim of the paper is to present the activities of the trade union of Polish Teachers´ Association (ZNP) and its governing body which is the social labour inspection. The article focuses on their role in shaping the safety at work in higher education, in particular in an academic library. The author presents the legal basis for the activities of these social institutions, as well as discusses the actions undertaken by the union and social labor inspectors for the sake of the university staff and members of the trade union organization. Particular emphasis was placed on the activities of the ZNP and SIP in an academic library, which is widely perceived as a workplace without major risks. After a thorough analysis of the issue, it turns out there are different kinds of risk factors present at the librarians’ working environment. These factors have also been briefl y presented in the article. Lastly, the author emphasizes the important role these institutions should play in the current activities of university and academic library.
