SAÚDE MENTAL NA UNIVERSIDADE – A COMPREENSÃO DA SÍNDROME DE BURNOUT EM UNIVERSITÁRIOS A PARTIR DA ANÁLISE DO COMPORTAMENTO

Abstract

Studies carried out in the last decade have shown an increase in the rate of psychological disorders in university students, affecting the quality of life and development of this population. Among the disorders presented by university students, Burnout Syndrome has been reported with considerable incidence. Investigations on Burnout Syndrome in university students have been carried out with the objective of understanding how the context of higher education affects the well-being of this population. Among the main symptoms of Burnout Syndrome are emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and feeling of ineffectiveness in the activities performed, in addition to fatigue, depression and decreased academic performance. This study aims to understand the Burnout Syndrome in university students, the most common symptoms and the related academic variables from a literature review. It is also proposed to approach the problem from the Behavioral Analytical understanding, with the objective of clarifying possibilities of prevention and intervention of Burnout Syndrome in the educational context.
