SAVED ART OBJECTS UNDER THE INSURANCE CONTRACT

Abstract
The article is devoted to the issues of insurance of works of art, collectibles and antiques. The occurrence of an insured event under art insurance contract are analyzed. The recognition by the insurance company of the complete destruction of a art work due to the occurrence of an insured event are discussed. It is established that a result of the recognition of total loss of art work is considered officially deprived of value. The definition salvaged art refers to works removed from art circulation due to accidental damage. Salvage pieces are subject to a peculiar and transformative actuarial logic.
