SCEPTICISM AND LITERATURE: REREADING WILLIAM’S GOLDING’S “LORD OF THE FLIES”

Abstract
The study suggests a new critical reading of William Golding’s Lord of the Flies (1954), in the context of modern scepticism. It also explores means that mediate the author’s sceptical mind on the poetical level of the novel.
