Self-efficacy and Life Satisfaction – Theoretical and Empirical Aspects of Research in the Professional Environment of People with Disabilities

Abstract
Hereby paper presents theoretical consideration of the issue of professional activity of disabled people from the viewpoint of life satisfaction which results from the feeling of self-efficiency. It is complemented by the outcomes of studies carried out which explore the abovementioned topic. People of limited efficiency make a specific group, both psychologically and sociologically, with needs often differentiating them from people with full efficiency. Deprivation of basic human needs which reveals itself due to the health condition, and which is often deepened by upbringing and social situation, has an essential influence on how an individual perceives oneself and the world. This may result with an impact on ones functioning in different situations in life. The research were based on the notion of self-efficiency which combines motivational and decisional cognitive elements. Their variability and influence have been examined in view of the sense of happiness in the group mentioned. Premises on the situation of disabled people and their mechanisms of functioning have been based on research to date including theoretical considerations of constituted variables and psychoanalytic theory. Statistical analysis of the research material attained allows drawing meaningful conclusions for the development of disabled people and emphasizes the undeniable value of undertaking professional activity in the group mentioned. Moreover, the article has been supplemented with considerations on the reason for occurrence of the effects observed, their applicational meaning and the influence of the professional activization process and the role of job trainer on individuals with limited ability that are ready for employment.
