SEMANTIC MODIFICATION OF WORDS AND WORD COMBINATIONS OF THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SPHERE OF ENGLISH-SPEAKING ORIGIN IN LANGUAGE OF MASS MEDIA OF THE ХХІ CENTURY

Abstract
The features of semantic modification of words and phrases of the social and economic sphere of English-speaking origin in language of media of the 21st century were investigated in article. The examples of some widespread terms “broadcasting”, “migration”, or “diffusion”, into structure of social and economic lexicon were reviewed. The transformations of loans in the language of media and the activization of determinologization processes have been analysed. Formation of new words and expansion of semantic borders of loans have been recorded. All semantic shifts were instantiated from lexicographic sources and mass media. The new meanings of the words were formulated on the basis of newspaper articles.
