SETTLEMENT OF TECHNOGENIC-DISTURBED SOIL DURING A LONG PERIOD OF TIME

Abstract

Purpose. To study and investigate the deformations of technogenic soils. Methodology. The following complex re-search methods have been used in the work: simulation was performed in the PLAXIS program for a clear comparison of changes in the geology of the upper soil layers in Kyiv; laboratory research by compression devices; static analysis of the data obtained. Originality. The direct dependence of development of construction production and changes in the geological structure of soil bases, namely, the change of some physical characteristics, which leads to unsuitability of the ground for development, has been created. The dependence of the sedimentation of technogenic soil in the conditions of consolidation for 10 years has been determined. Practical value. Based on these results, we can continue experiments to predict the development of sedimentation of the upper layers of construction sites that are technogenically soils and to prevent the destruction of buildings. Conclusions. As a result of studies with the simulation of the geological environment of the upper layers over 10 years, and more detailed consideration of soil segmentation in stages, it is evident that the precipitation of the technogenic soil reaches its maximum value for 4 years, and then fades away and becomes insignificant. When loading a conditionally stabilized base in all cases, we get a sharp jump of precipitation which reaches an average of one meter, which allows us to say that this soil is not stable, and construction in these soils is impossible without the use of additional engineering activities. Based on these results, we can continue experiments to predict the development of sedimentation of the upper layers of construction sites that are technogenically impacted soils and to prevent the destruction of buildings.
