Short term outcome of use of proximal humerus locking plate as a treatment of proximal humerus fracture using constant score
Journal Title: International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
Objective: This study focuses on short term outcome of use of proximal humerus locking plating as a treatment of proximal humerus fracture using Constant Score. Introduction: Proximal humerus fractures are one of the most common osteoporotic fractures. The major goal in the treatment of this fracture is to promote complication free healing to recreate a pain free mobile, stable and functional shoulder joint. We study the outcome of these fractures treated with proximal humerus locking plate. Methodology: A cohort of 20 proximal humerus fracture, treated with proximal humerus locking plate between Sep 2015 to Sep 2016 were analysed for minimum of 6 months and final result was analysed using Constant Score. Results: 75% patients had satisfactory results. Assessment was done using Constant Scoring System. No major complication was noted whatsoever.

Credibility of locking plate in treatment of distal end radius fractures with intra articular extension
Background: The management of distal end radius has undergone an extraordinary evolution over the preceding twenty years. The technical advance of palmar locking plating has again changed the management of this fracture...
Shoe lace technique, a simple and less expensive method for Fasciotomy wound closure following compartment syndrome
Introduction: Compartment syndrome is a common and severe medical condition that can lead to ischemia and ultimately tissue loss. The treatment of choice is emergent fasciotomy to lower the compartment pressure. However,...
Profile of patients with thoracolumbar spine injuries: A descriptive study
Introduction: Thoracic spine is much stiffer than the lumbar spine in sagittal plane. This restricts lateral flexion- extension. This is due to restraining effects of the rib cage, and the relatively thinner discs of the...
Primary plating osteosynthesis in open fractures
Introduction: We have undertaken the work with the idea that early internal fixation with plate provide sufficient stability for proper nursing of wound and fracture healing on one hand and initiation of early joint func...
MIPO with anatomical plate for distal tibia extra articular fractures: A safe and effective modality
Background: Distal tibia fractures are often amongst the most difficult fractures to treat because of the hour glass shape of the distal tibia poses a difficulty to achieve fixation with intramedullary nails. Surgical ma...
