Simulation of metamaterials negative refractive index
Journal Title: Journal of New technology and Materials - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 2
Abstract
Research on artificial structures have practically achieve what Victor Veselago predicted in the 70s, namely engineering permeability and permittivity, which made both simultaneously negative, make possible the existence of effects negative refractive. John Pendry mentioned the possibility of making perfect lens using a flat layer of material left-hand whose relative permittivity and permeability equal to -1 must be able to focus a point source with perfect resolution. In his demonstration, Pendry capital shows the importance of the evanescent waves in this property, these waves undergoing amplification in the left hand material, breaking the Rayleigh limit . Here we are in the field of metamaterials characterized by a structure largely under-wavelength. we present the results obtained for the determination of all possible operating points, seeking the band gaps can TE and TM and the band gaps in a common two-dimensional periodic structure of triangular air holes in a dielectric with a refractive index n = 3.26

Synthesis and Characterization of Aliphatic-Aromatic Copolyesters PET-PLA From PET Waste and Lactide
Copolyesters containing aliphatic units in the main chain were obtained by reacting Bis(2-hydroxy ethyl terephthalate) (BHET) with Lactide at a high temperature in bulk in presence of tin (II)octoate as the catalyst. Var...
Effect of dye extracts on the optical properties of chemically deposited ZnS thin films
The study reports on the influence of dye extracts of Naulcea latifolia (Uvuru-ilu) leaves on the optical properties of Zinc Sulphide (ZnS) thin films grown by the chemical bath deposition method. The concentration of t...
Evolution of A Synthetic Fluid From Water Extract From Fermented Ground Maize (WEFGM) As An Alternative To Water-Based Cutting Fluids:Properties Analysis,
Relevant properties of synthetic fluid samples formulated using deionized water, Water Extract from Fermented Ground Maize (WEFGM) and deionized WEFGM as base fluids at 5 and 10%vol additives have been evaluated. The pH...
Dependence of hardness to the applied load of the 42CrMo4 steel manufactured by MIM process
For the purposes of this article the hardness of material 42CrMo4 steel which is manufactured by metal injection molding (MIM) process was measured by Vickers method. When determining hardness the following loads: 196,1;...
Comparison between the microstructural, morphological, mechanical and tribological characteristics of nanocrystalline Ni and Ni-Co electrodeposited coatings
For improving the wear resistance of steel used commonly in industry, nanocrystalline nickel and nickel-cobalt coatings are electrodeposited on A60 steel substrate in a modified Watts bath. The observation of the coating...
