Single-Phase Full-Wave Rectifier as an Effective Example to Teach Normalization, Conduction Modes, and Circuit Analysis Methods
Journal Title: Elektronika - Year 2013, Vol 17, Issue 2
Abstract
Application of a single phase rectifier as an example in teaching circuit modeling, normalization, operating modes of nonlinear circuits, and circuit analysis methods is proposed. The rectifier supplied from a voltage source by an inductive impedance is analyzed in the discontinuous as well as in the continuous conduction mode. Completely analytical solution for the continuous conduction mode is derived. Appropriate numerical methods are proposed to obtain the circuit waveforms in both of the operating modes, and to compute the performance parameters. Source code of the program that performs such computation is provided.

New Blood Level Measurement System in Blood Separating Machine
Standard versions of blood separators typically use medium-price color sensors for a detection of a boundary level between red blood cells and plasma, at the last gate – at hose clamps. Discrete number of sensors is rela...
Improving the methodology of main power equipment choice for the gas turbine plants
Our paper considers the problem of economic substantiation of the choice of the main power equipment at the stage of functional studies of investment projects in conditions of uncertainty and incompleteness of initial da...
Efficient Computerized-Tomography Reconstruction Using Low-Cost FPGA-DSP Chip
In this paper, filtered back-projection algorithm is optimally implemented using low-cost Spartan 3A-DSP 3400 chip. The optimization enables parallel implementation. The combination of the pixel parallelism and projectio...
Epilepsy Detecting and Halting Mechanism Using Wireless Sensor Networks
Epilepsy is a condition that affects thousands of people worldwide. In the laboratory setting, it becomes difficult to monitor patients and analyze when the next seizure would recur. Although algorithms have been propose...
An Enhanced Incremental Conductance Algorithm for Photovoltaic System
The energy obtained from the photovoltaic array is dependent on the available solar insolation, the panel tilt angle and the power point tracking algorithm of the system. Some of the Conventional MPPT methods are develop...
