Journal Title: JOURNAL OF MEDICAL COLLEGE CHANDIGARH - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
We report a case of a large renal hydatid cyst coexisting with hydatid cyst of liver and both cysts were managed successfully in one-stage surgical procedure. Both organs hydatid cysts were removed through a single unilateral chevron incision. First, the renal hydatid cyst was enucleated with pericystectomy after usual clamping of the main renal artery and it was followed by the removal of hydatid cyst of liver. Thus, the single stage surgical management of cysts resulted in the preservation parenchyma of both the organs. Besides, avoiding the second incision, we were able to save second anaesthesia and its risk.
