Abstract

Field of medicine: Sport medicine Audience: Sports medicine specialists, general practitioners, students in medicine Purpose: This is a review of the book SPORT MEDICINE by d-r Slobodan Nikolik, and represents the author’s particular contribution in expanding the knowledge in this field in Macedonia. After a long intermission there appears in our country a book which describes the many problems of sport medicine and is written in an especially light, readable and understandable language to anyone with this particular interest. Content: The book is 600 pages long and is a text masterpiece, divided into 17 chapters and using proven and up-to-date references as well as richly illustrated with 53 photos and 105 charts. The descriptions of different impairments as well as the reasons for all occurrences in the body are modern and accepted in the worldwide trends of sport medicine.
