Abstract
TAS2Rs are located in taste buds of the tongue and extraorally. They are widely expressed throughout the body and mediate diverse nontasting roles. Accumulating evidence indicates that TAS2Rs display an important role in innate immunity, especially in the bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract. ............................... Receptory gorzkiego smaku (TAS2Rs) należą do nadrodziny siedmiotrans-błonowych receptorów sprzężonych z białkiem G. Receptory te są umiejscowione w brodawkach smakowych w języku oraz występują poza jamą ustną. Ekspresję pozaustnych TAS2Rs stwierdzono w wielu tkankach i narządach, gdzie pełnią różne funkcje odmienne od percepcji bodźców smakowych. Udowodniono, że TAS2Rs odgrywają istotną rolę w odporności nieswoistej, szczególnie w przypadku infekcji bakteryjnej górnych dróg oddechowych.
