Journal Title: «Вчені записки Таврійського національного університету імені В. І. Вернадського. Серія: Філологія. Соціальні комунікації» - Year 2017, Vol 28, Issue 1
Abstract
In the article we will describe life and artistic career of a French writer Jean Genet (mid 20th century) in the aspect of the phenomenon of marginality. Relying on the works of leading researchers in the field of social, cultural, psychological and creative marginality, we prove the thesis that forced social and cultural marginality shaped personal and artistic marginalisation of the writer. The marginal consciousness has had an imprint on all creative works of Jean Genet (search of new ways of creative realisation, choice of taboo topics and marginal characters, unique ethic and esthetic concepts, marginalisation of genre styles).
