SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL STEREOTYPES IN THE RELA-TION TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES

Abstract
The article presents the main results of an empirical research of social and psy-chological stereotypes in the treatment of individuals with disabilities that was con-ducted at Vinnytsia state pedagogical university named by Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi. The research involved a comparative analysis of the peculiarities of the subject under study in two student groups of different specialities. The latter resulted in the definition of negative and positive trends in the treatment of individuals with disabilities observed in modern Ukrainian society. The article also presents a correlation analysis between the indices of social and psychological tolerance and emotional reactions in interaction with disabled people. This research enabled the definition of those aspects of the problem that should undergo further study.
