Abstract
The article deals with the analysis of doctrinal approaches, concepts and theories of the information society and the prospects of unification of his definition. A modern information society it is suggested to understand as a multispectral phenomenon, covering education, science, innovation, economy and law, culture, in the framework of the quality of the new regulatory framework, focused on the interests of people, who can create and collect information and knowledge, have them free access, enjoy and share them, including the use of information technologies and communication technologies, the opportunity to realize their potential, to contribute to social and personal development and enhance the quality of life.
