SOME ISSUES OF FUNCTIONING AND USAGE OF „FEMALE” FORM IN POLISH WITH A FORMANT -K/A

Abstract
Nowadays the usage of „female” forms is more common by the journalists, public figures and wide range of speakers in general. However, these forms are not always correct from the point of view of phonetics, morphology, semantics. Many features on this issue are rendered in grammars, textbooks for learning of Polish as a foreign language, but we can not always find all answers to questions concerning the proper usage of „female” forms. That’s why tendencies in the development of the category of gender in Polish nouns need a detailed study. As it is known, language is a reflection of thought direction of society. In its modern development Polish appeals to such forms, which were difficult and frivolous several decades ago. Now they are accepted by society as independent language definitions. The article, whose purpose was the study of using tendencies of ‘’female’’ forms in modern Polish, allows to apply ‘’female’’ forms correctly in communicative situations. The principles and tendencies, according to which „female” forms are created, can be required in the process of solving language problems by those, who seek to master Polish.
