Abstract
The article deals with the problem of the quality of education in general and the improvement of the quality of learning a foreign language in particular. Qualitative education is viewed from the perspective of a competence approach to learning a foreign language. The emphasis was placed on the fact that the distinctive feature of teaching a foreign language at the present stage is cooperation with international educational structures. The article presents an example of cooperation between the Kharkiv University of Humanities «People’s Ukrainian Academy» and the «Pearson» Representative Office in Ukraine. It is stated that the main objectives of the Specialised Economics and Law School for the implementation of the cooperation agreement with the «Pearson» Representative Office are: improving the teaching and educational process, intensification of methodical work and international collaboration.
