SPECIFICITY OF LANGUAGE CONSCIOUSNESS AMONG AGRARIAN STUDENTS

Abstract
Introduction. The research is relevant due to the objective needs of building an integrated system of language teaching in agricultural universities, as well as developing of methodological tools for developing of linguistic consciousness of non-philological students. Methods. The analysis of the concepts of sociolinguistics, linguistics and pedagogy through both theoretical work and empirical research (participant observation, unstructured interviews, questionnaires) were used to find out the specifics of modern agricultural university students verbal behavior, as well as develop strategies for student language culture fostering in a course of the Business Ukrainian teaching. Results. There is no clear understanding of the importance of language for the existence of the state and nation among students society, and as a result, these students show low sense of Ukrainian nationhood. The specificity of language culture and language awareness among agrarian students involves using the design and research of technology in teaching. Discussion. Further investigations are needed to clarify the conditions for successful acquisition of language awareness of non-philological students.
