Abstract
The article substantiates the prospects of development of sea and river transport in the modern conditions of economy of resources and strengthening of international cooperation. The normative-legal acts, which determine the bases of state control over observance of legislation on sea and river transport, are analyzed. The specifics of state control over observance of legislation on sea and river transport are revealed.
