Abstract
Polyakh V.M. The State and Tendencies of Pig Breeding Development in Ukraine and Kharkiv Region. The integration of Ukraine Into international economic structures is possible under the condition of the development of all branches of economy, the raise of economic activity efficiency and the quality of production, since only under these conditions the economy of our country may become competitive at the global level. If export of plant growing production depends first of all on the crop capacity of any year, the situation with both realization of stockbreeding production to other countries and the state of this particular branch leaves much to be desired. Though recently the stockbreeding branch is slowly getting out of the crises, the rates of livestock increasing, production and its efficiency remain low. One of the main directions of stockbreeding is pig breeding. Pig breeding is highly intensive branch of stockbreeding which may become rather efficient in the nearest future to provide the sufficient level of the consumption of pork in this country and to take an important place in the export of agricultural production. The current state of pig breeding branch in Ukraine and Kharkiv region is analyzed, the main tendencies in production of pork for the last years are shown, the indicators of pig farming efficiency are compared in the article. The biggest enterprises of pork production in Kharkiv region are found and their production efficiency indicators are presented. The present analysis gives the opportunity to reveal the tendencies of this branch development for the nearest future and to understand that under the condition of complex program of pig breeding development as well as transferring to large scale production, the branch may become not only highly competitive but provide food security of our country.
