СТАНОВИЩЕ УКРАЇНСЬКИХ МІГРАНТІВ В РЕСПУБЛІЦІ ГРЕЦІЯ

Abstract
Проаналізовано становище українських мігрантів греків та не греків за походженням у Республіці Греція. Визначено основні законодавчі акти, що надали можливість українцям в Греції легалізувати своє становище, отримати громадянство Греції. Проаналізовано поняття грека репатріанта, або грека зарубіжжя. Зазначено, що українці мають усі можливості в Греції для соціально, культурного автентичного розвитку. The aim of the paper is to describe the phenomenon of Ukrainian migration to Greece. The present article discusses the impact of the legal framework related to migration starting from the period of perestroika till the first decade of 21st century. Historically, Greece was one of the first destinations attracting Ukrainian migrants, but the migration flows have strongly decreased during the last years and a tendency for return migration has emerged. Among the key features is the fact that the migrant’s experience is deeply influenced and shaped by Greece’s policy response to migration. The paper examines the impact of the legislative measures for obtaining Greek citizenship and residence permit for the Ukrainian of Greek origin. Actually, Ukrainians are among the oldest and most populous migrant groups in Greece during the last two decades. The most important pull factor was the demand for cheap work in the informal labour market, The most common way for the Ukrainians to come to Greece at the time was through a tourist visa, the terms of which were subsequently violated by overstaying for working informally. With the regularization programs that took place, many Ukrainians managed to legalize their status, with most of the stay permits being issued for dependent employment. Also, it is necessary to mention that Greek legislation provided necessary opportunities for the Ukrainian community that consists of Ukrainian of Greek and non-Greek origin to develop socially and culturally, to get Greek education . Another important fact to mention is a coexistence and cooperation with another group of Hellenes abroad – Pontians. Partially they have similar history as the Greeks of Ukraine, and, also, they use the same legislation in order to obtain Greek citizenship and Greek residence permits. So, the problem and the notion of repatriated Greek is also studied in the article.
