STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF UKRAINE’S REGIONS SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATE IN THE CONTEXT OF CLUSTER POTENTIAL

Abstract
Purpose. The main objectives of the study are to develop a structure and a system of indicators for analyzing the socioeconomic state of regions and their diagnostics, taking into account the potential for cluster formation, as well as the initial statistical analysis of the regions of Ukraine, which will result in the identification of regions with significant cluster potential and the choice of directions for further analysis. Methods of research. The following scientific methods were used in the research: system-structural analysis - with the purpose of developing a system of indicators for assessing the cluster potential; analysis and synthesis, with the help of which the main groups of statistical indicators were delivered; statistical method. Findings. It is designed the structure and system of indicators for the analysis of socio-economic status of regions and their diagnosis due to the potential formation of clusters and initial statistical analysis conducted by regions of Ukraine. The social, economic and scientific innovation indicators for the regions of Ukraine are analyzed. The analysis revealed regions of Ukraine with a significant cluster potential and the socio-economic development. Prospective directions of cluster formation are developed and directions of further analysis are suggested. Originality. A system of indicators was developed, a comprehensive statistical analysis of regional development and cluster potential of the regions of Ukraine was used. Practical value. The results of the research can be used to develop local and national development programs, as well as consulting firms, cluster agencies and entrepreneurs who want to improve overall efficiency through cooperation or to analyze the current state of regional and cluster development.
