STATUS OF WORK ON ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AS A CORRECTIVE-DEVELOPING PROCESS IN THE GENERAL EDUCATIONAL SPECIAL SCHOOL

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of the formation of ecological culture in students with disabilities in the process of studying natural science. It is determined that in classical and modern psychological and pedagogical practice, attention is focused on the enormous potentialities of the positive influence of ecological education on the formation of the personality, the development of its spirituality and the formation of the foundations of ecological culture. It is proved that this problem is inadequately elaborated in Ukrainian psychopedagogy. It is found out that the ecological culture of a pupil with disabilities appears to be a personal phenomenon. Its formation lies in the cognitive, emotional-axiological and activity aspect. The theoretical and methodological foundations of environmental education of students with disabilities are defined. The results of studying and analysing the real experience of work on the formation of ecological culture in students with disabilities in the educational process of a special school are presented. The relationship between the understanding of the availability of information on natural science and ecology and the nature of the manifestation of the emotional value attitude to nature and nature protection activity is shown. It is emphasized that the ability to adequately motivate value judgments, critically evaluate concrete actions on the objects of nature, condemn ecologically illiterate behavior, make decisions and correct one's own behavior in accordance with environmental norms and rules is presented in a rather fragmentary manner even among high school students. Four general levels of the formation of ecological culture in students of special and general schools (from high to very low) are justified. The indicators and criteria for the formation of the ecological culture of pupils of the 6th and 9th grades are determined, its features, age dynamics and potential possibilities are shown.
