An increasing body of evidence supports a link with acute and chronic stress as risk factors for acute myocardial infarction . The potential role of psychosocial fact ors i n acut e di sease onset and prognosis after MI has been studied. Acute coronary syndromes are due to coronary thrombosis associated with plaque rupture, which in turn is related to stressful factors.
