Structural Monitoring of Wind Turbines using Sensors Connected via UTP Cable
Journal Title: Carpathian Journal of Electrical Engineering - Year 2017, Vol 11, Issue 1
Abstract
Unpredicted faults that may occur at the wind generators elements affect their economic operation. A promising approach that avoids these faults is the real-time vibrations monitoring. Data measured by the sensors can be transmitted to a monitoring station using wireless techniques, or optical fiber, or UTP cable. The last possibility is the cheapest, but it permits connecting the monitoring station at a limited distance with respect to the monitored turbine. The paper presents the components of the monitoring system and the experimental results related to the monitored wind turbine.

Closed Form Formulas for ELF Inductive Coupling Between Finite Length Wires with Earth Return
This paper deals with the evaluation of the inductive coupling between an overhead finite length wire circuit and a buried wire circuit, both with earth return, in the range of Extremely Low Frequencies (ELF). In particu...

A Modified Virtual Space Vector Modulation Technique for Z-Source NPC Inverters
A modified virtual space vector modulation approach for the control of a Z-source neutral point clamped inverter is presented in this paper. This approach works perfectly for the traditional neutral point clamped inverte...
Modeling and Electrical Characterization of Mosfets ‘EKV Model’ Using Matlab
The miniaturization of MOS transistors has increased the integration density and speed of operation of the circuits. This miniaturization has led to parasitic phenomena that degrade the current-voltage characteristics. T...
Biot-Savart Law Application in Wireless Power Transfer – Dependence of Magnetic Field to Angle Position
The magnetic field of a closed loop of conductive wire can be computed due to Biot-Savart law, which analyses the value of the field at an exterior point from the transversal axis. If the measure point is out of the axis...
