Structure of English Initial Abbreviationsin NATO Official Documentation

Abstract
The aim of the research is to analyze the initial abbreviations structure and outline peculiarities of formation of English terms in NATO official documentation. The material for investigation comprises 736 initial abbreviations. Three-letter abbreviations prevail among the researched ones (379), followed by four-letter ones (198), two-letter ones (70), five-letters ones (52), one-letter (17) and six-letter (17) abbreviations.
