Studenci zagraniczni widziani oczami studentów i bibliotekarzy Gdańskie4go Uniwersytetu Medycznego - próba odnalezienia recepty na pozytywną zmianę

Abstract
The issue of international academic communities and coexistence of foreign students appeared during the XXXII Problematic Conference of Medical Libraries a year ago. The presented results of our survey this group of students inspired us to complete our research with a point of view of Polish students and librarians. Surveys were conducted as attempt to define the image of a foreign student in the academic community in opinion of Polish students and librarians from Medical University of Gdańsk. We were interested what myths and stereotypes about foreign students respondents have, as well as what stands in the way of the integration process, and what strengthens it. Survey results will tell us what activities consolidating multicultural academic community are expected from the library by Polish students and librarians themselves. Secondly we will find what could be done in the Library, in cooperation with the university, to help foreign students to feel as a real member of academic society in academic reality and to a Polish culture. Temat umiędzynarodowionych środowisk akademickich i funkcjonowania w nich studentów zagranicznych pojawił się przed rokiem na XXXII Konferencji Problemowej Bibliotek Medycznych. Przedstawione wówczas wyniki badań tej grupy studentów stały się inspiracją do uzupełnienia obserwacji o punkt widzenia polskich studentów oraz bibliotekarzy. Celem przeprowadzonej obecnie ankiety była próba określenia wizerunku studenta obcokrajowca w przestrzeni akademickiej w oczach polskiego studenta i bibliotekarza Gdańskiego Uniwersytetu Medycznego. Interesowało nas, jakie mity i stereotypy dotyczące studentów zagranicznych tkwią w świadomości badanych oraz co stoi na przeszkodzie procesowi integracji, a co go wzmacnia. Wyniki ankiety podpowiedzą, jakich działań konsolidujących wielokultu rowe środowisko akademickie ze strony biblioteki oczekują polscy studenci i sami bibliotekarze, a także, co może zrobić biblioteka we współpracy z uczelnią, aby ułatwić zagranicznym studentom poruszanie się w rzeczywistości akademickiej oraz zaadaptowanie się do obcego kulturowo środowiska Polski
