Students’ theories on intelligence. Implication regarding school grades and academic satisfaction

Abstract
The aim of this study was to observe the relation between students' perception on intelligence and their school performance, and also to check if this relationship can be improved upon by creating an optimum environment for development within the classroom. 137 students from different public and private schools in Oradea, Bihor county, were implied in this research. They completed measures on theories of intelligence, school environment and teacher perception. Also, their school grades were recorded from the official school documents. The results showed significant positive association between school grades and the incremental theory on intelligence. Also, school satisfaction was positive related to students’ perception on teachers’ support. The results have important implications in understanding students’ motivation and their wellbeing in school context.
