Study of genetic affinities in clones of Manihot esculenta Crantz of economic importance for Cuba
Journal Title: Biotecnología Vegetal - Year 2003, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
The genetic affinity were studied between 12 Cassava clones (Manihot esculenta Crantz) after studying the isozymatical systems: Peroxidase, Phenoloxidase and Carbonic Anhidrase. The MAT-GEN program was used for the analyzing results. All the isozymic systems were polymorphous. The dendrogram showed the formation of four groups, according the phylogenetic relations.

Effect of substrates mixtures on conversion phase of Coffea arabica L. cv. ‘Caturra rojo’ plants obtained by somatic embryogenesis
The development of somatic embryogenesis of coffee (Coffea spp.) in liquid culture medium is a viable alternative for the propagation of this specie, but high conversion rates are required. The aim of this paper was to...
Obtaining transgenic papaya plants var. Maradol Roja with an antisense ACC oxidase gene
Papaya is a crop of economic importance for tropical countries. However, post-harvesting losses of Maradol Roja cultivar, the most important in Central America, have been up to 80%, due to a lack of proper infrastructur...
New protocol for the quick induction of adventitious buds and the regeneration of plants in banana cv. ‘Grande naine’ (Musa AAA)
A protocol for the quick formation of adventitious buds in banana cv. ‘Grande Naine’ and the development of plants was developed. Several concentrations of 6-Benzylaminopurine (6-BAP) and 1-phenyl-3-(-1,2,3-thidiazol-5-y...
Plant regeneration of Dioscorea cayenensis subsp. rotundata Poir cv. ‘Blanco de Guinea’ from somatics embryos
Despite the progress made in the production of yam (Dioscorea spp.) seed by both conventional and biotechnological methods, the low disponibility of planting material with physiological and sanitary quality continues t...
Purification of phytotoxic metabolites from the filtrate culture of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense gcv 01210 (race 1)
Panama disease, caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense, is considered a destructive disease of economic importance in the genus Musa. The culture filtrates of the pathogen have been used to differentiate cultivars...
