Study on seeding time, yield and nutritive quality of Brassica campesttris L. ssp. chinesis(L.)Makino var rosularis Tsen et Lee in Heze, Shandong

Journal Title: 广东农业科学 - Year 2018, Vol 45, Issue 9

Abstract

"In order to enrich vegetable species and supply of the market requirement in early winter and winter, Brassica campesttris L.ssp.chinesis (L.) Makino var rosularis Tsen et Lee was introducted to Heze region. This experiment was mainly to explore the effects of different seeding times on its agronomic characters, yield and nutritive quality, the effects of different fertilization on its yield and nutritive quality, and the effects of different leaf ages of transplantation on yield and slow seeding time. The result showed that as the seeding times delayed, plant height, plant width, leaf length, leaf width, petiole length and yield of single plant showed a trend of declining initially and then increasing, petiole width, leaf number and soluble sugar showed a trend of increasing initially followed by declining, but, except soluble sugar, then again increasing, protein content showed a trend of declining, but Vc and nitrate content had no obvious change rules. Yield and protein contents were significantly higher in August 25th and September 5th than the other seeding times, the yields of single plant were 511.16 g, and 500.08 g, respectively, protein contents were 6.27 mg/g and 6.50 mg/g, respectively, nitrate contents were 342.87 mg/kg and 357.66 mg/ kg, respectively. Vc content was significantly higher in September 5th than the other seeding times, with its content reaching 32.34 mg/100g. The treatments of organic fertilizer (O), organic fertilizer adding nitrogenous fertilizer (ON), organic fertilizer adding compound fertilizer (OM) were significantly higher than CK (no fertilizer) in single plant yield, soluble sugar content and protein content. The single plant yield and protein content of OM were the highest, reaching 520.15 g and 6.79 mg/g, respectively, but its nitrate content was significantly lower than ON. Seeding age of 6 to 8 leaves plant was shorter with 4 days, but had higher single plant yield, with 518.72 g and 519.06 g, respectively. From comprehensive analysis of agronomic characters, yield and nutritive quality, it concluded that the best seeding time of B. campesttris was from August 25th to September 5th in Heze. Organic fertilizer adding compound fertilizer was the optimal fertilizer combination, and the optimal seeding age was 6 to 8 leaves age."
